New Delhi, Aug. 31 -- The Delhi Police has busted an alleged human trafficking network operating from a brothel at GB Road, rescuing two women who were allegedly lured to the Capital on the pretext of employment and forced into prostitution.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from Kamla Market police station raided the premises and rescued a 26-year-old married woman and mother of three, who had been missing from West Bengal since May 2. She allegedly told police that a man, identified as Kalu, lured her at a railway station with a job offer, brought her to Delhi and sold her to Geeta, who took her to the brothel.
Police said Geeta and Manju allegedly forced her into prostitution and kept her earnings. Another 28-year-old woman was also rescued. She alleged she was promised domestic work but was forced into prostitution and threatened with harm to her eight-year-old son.
The accused - Geeta (55), Manju (58) and Paro Khatoon (29) - were identified as alleged caretakers of the premises. Cases have been registered under relevant provisions of the BNS and Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
