
New Delhi, Sept. 15 -- A 31-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside a locked room in southeast Delhi's Badarpur on Tuesday, with police probing the role of her husband, officials said. Police said that a PCR call regarding the suspected murder was received at around 12:15 pm, following which a team rushed to the spot and found the woman, identified as Yashoda, dead inside a room.
"According to the preliminary inquiry, Yashoda lived in Gautampuri with her husband Manoj and their five-year-old child. The woman had visited her father on Monday night and returned to her room at around 11:30 pm," an officer said.
The room was found locked from outside on Tuesday morning, following which her father grew suspicious and broke open the lock. Yashoda was found dead inside a locked room. Police are recording family statements, examining forensic evidence and investigating her husband's role. The cause of death awaits postmortem.
