
Kolkata, Sept. 29 -- West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Neelam Meena on Tuesday reviewed preparedness for the October 6 by-elections to the Rejinagar and Nandigram Assembly seats.
Meena, along with Additional CEOs, Joint CEOs and Deputy CEOs, held a video conference with district election officials and other poll functionaries, a statement said.
District Election Officers, Additional District Magistrates, Sub-Divisional Officers, Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers and sector officials, among others, attended the meeting.
The review focused on arrangements for the by-elections, including coordination among election officials and preparedness at the constituency and sector levels, the statement said.
The EC had on September 7 announced by-elections to the Rejinagar and Nandigram Assembly constituencies, with polling scheduled for October 6 and counting on October 9.
The election process is scheduled to be completed by October 11.
