Kolkata, May 24 -- The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) was conducted peacefully across Bengal on Sunday amid tight security arrangements, though a section of candidates complained that the mathematics paper was lengthy and difficult to complete within the allotted time.
Officials of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) said no untoward incident or malpractice was reported from any examination centre.
According to the board, 1,20,856 candidates had registered for the examination, which was conducted across 267 centres, including 264 in Bengal, two in Tripura and one in Assam.
Several candidates said the mathematics section was more time-consuming than expected.
"We had to answer 75 questions in two hours. The calculations in the mathematics section were lengthy and took a lot of time," a candidate said outside Bethune College examination centre.
A candidate from Khardah said the calculations were too lengthy to complete within the given time despite the questions being manageable.
Another examinee said the mathematics section appeared tougher than this year's JEE Main examination.
