Balurghat, Sept. 28 -- Door-to-door drinking water supply in Balurghat will remain disrupted on Tuesday and Wednesday due to emergency repair work, municipal sources said. A major crack has developed in the main pipeline at Hossainpur, where the town's main reservoir and treatment plant are located.
The Balurghat Municipality made announcements across all 25 wards on Monday, informing residents about the disruption. Engineers are examining whether partial supply can be maintained during the repair.
Municipal chairman Surajit Saha said the pipeline was being repaired on an emergency basis and efforts were on to restore partial supply. Normal service is expected from Thursday.
