Raipur, Nov. 1 -- Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his greetings on the occasion of the state's 25th Foundation Day, saying his message reflected a deep connection with the state's people, culture and heritage.

In a letter to the prime minister, Sai said Modi's affection, confidence and guidance would inspire the state government to work towards building a prosperous and developed Chhattisgarh. He recalled the prime minister's visits to the state, including his participation in the Silver Jubilee celebrations last year and the inauguration of the new Legislative Assembly building.

The chief minister said the state government was committed to fulfilling the vision of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who had created Chhattisgarh, under PM Modi's leadership. Highlighting the improvement in the security situation, Sai said the success in combating Naxalism, supported by security forces and local people, was transforming Bastar's identity from a region associated with violence into one focused on peace, trust and development.

He said schemes such as Niyad Nella Nar, Pradhan Mantri Janman and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan were extending roads, electricity, drinking water, healthcare and communication facilities to remote tribal villages.

On welfare initiatives, Sai said more than 25 lakh paddy farmers were benefiting from procurement at Rs 3,100 per quintal.
