India, July 28 -- The Uttar Pradesh Police allegedly raided the residence of Mohammad Junaid, a volunteer associated with the ongoing student protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, triggering fresh allegations of police intimidation from protest organisers. The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which spearheaded the agitation, claimed that Junaid has been actively providing food and drinking water to protesters since the movement began. The party alleged that Uttar Pradesh Police personnel conducted a raid at his residence and detained his father, his minor brother and several relatives living in Meerut in an attempt to pressure him to withdraw from the protest. According to CJP leaders, the action was intended to discourage volunteers supporting the agitation and create fear among those participating in the movement. They accused the police of targeting families of protesters instead of addressing the issues raised by students. However, the Meerut Police rejected the allegations, stating that no such detentions had taken place. Police officials denied that Junaid's family members or relatives had been taken into custody and dismissed the claims made during the press conference.
