LUCKNOW, Aug. 4 -- The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday approved 21 proposals covering infrastructure, agriculture, social welfare, labour reforms and governance, with major decisions aimed at boosting connectivity, regional development and farmer welfare.
At a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Cabinet cleared the construction of a 74.467-km six-lane access-controlled greenfield expressway connecting Jewar International Airport with the Ganga Expressway via Bulandshahr. Designed for future expansion to eight lanes, the project is expected to strengthen connectivity across western Uttar Pradesh and integrate with the state's expressway network.
The Cabinet also approved the formation of the Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Regional Development Authority to promote planned urbanisation and infrastructure development. It further cleared the transfer of Public Works Department-acquired land at seven locations to the Housing and Urban Planning Department for developing multi-purpose hubs. To promote innovation, the government approved the establishment of state-of-the-art U-Hubs in Lucknow and Noida. It also approved the creation of the Uttar Pradesh Nomadic Development Board for the socio-economic upliftment of denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic communities, besides amending operational guidelines for the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2.0 to strengthen support for traditional artisans.
In a major relief for farmers, the Cabinet approved implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme for the 2026-27 financial year, covering both Kharif 2026 and Rabi 2026-27 seasons.
The Cabinet also approved amendments to the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board Act, 2004, notified the Wage Code Rules, 2026, and cleared amendments to service rules relating to the State Property and Geology and Mining departments.
