Lucknow, Sept. 7 -- Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday accused the BJP of working against the Constitution and the law, saying those refusing to follow the law today would have to abide by it tomorrow.

Speaking at a press conference, Yadav said the BJP was not functioning in accordance with the spirit of the Constitution and the law. In a democratic system, adherence to the Constitution and the law was essential for everyone, he said.

"Those who are not following the law today will follow it tomorrow," Yadav said.

Yadav also claimed that the party's PDA campaign was expanding, saying more people were joining the campaign. PDA refers to the party's political formulation of Pichhda, Dalit and Alpsankhyak, or backward classes, Dalits and minorities.

He said the party would continue to reach out to people and strengthen the campaign. The growing participation, he claimed, showed that the PDA idea was finding wider acceptance among people.
