New Delhi, Sept. 27 -- Delhi Police have arrested two men for allegedly running an extortion racket in the name of gangster Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu and demanding Rs 3 crore from a businessman, officials said on Sunday.
The accused, Rohit Arora, 47, of Dwarka, and Sudhir Gahlot alias Chota Nandu, 44, of Uttam Nagar, allegedly made threatening calls to several businessmen and threatened their families with serious consequences. Police said they were also planning firing incidents at targets' homes and business premises to create fear.
The case was registered at Bindapur police station on September 6 following the extortion demand. During investigation, police identified at least five targets in Dwarka.
Arora was arrested from Sector 11, Dwarka, on September 23, followed by Gahlot's arrest on September 24. Six mobile phones were recovered. Further investigation
is underway.
