New Delhi, Oct. 16 -- Tribhuvan Darbari, Chairman of the BIMSTEC Business Council Secretariat, Managing Director and CEO of Texmaco Defence Systems Pvt Ltd and Chief Executive of Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd, Adventz Group, represented ASSOCHAM at the India-UK Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) Business Plenary at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

Darbari said the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) marked the beginning of a deeper economic partnership, emphasising sustained implementation, regulatory cooperation, reduced non-tariff barriers and integrated supply chains.

Signed in July 2025 and effective from July 15, 2026, CETA provides zero-duty access for nearly 99% of India's exports to the UK.

More than 50 Indian export consignments worth over $140 million were flagged off on its implementation day.

Bilateral trade stood at approximately £48 billion in 2025 and is expected to surpass £75.5 billion by 2030.

Representing ASSOCHAM, Darbari stressed the need to help MSMEs and startups access markets, meet regulatory requirements and join global value chains.

He also called for stronger industry-academia collaboration in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotechnology and clean energy.

He cited Adventz Group's role in facilitating India-UK collaboration in 1995 through a joint venture between Simon Carves and Zuari Industries Limited.
