New Delhi, Nov. 4 -- The Trans-Yamuna Area Development Board (TYADB) has received 1,090 fresh development proposals from various constituencies, with its chairman Arvinder Singh Lovely directing officials to expedite pending projects and prioritise basic civic infrastructure across the region.
The directions were issued during the Board's 62nd meeting, held at the Delhi Secretariat on Wednesday, which reviewed the progress of ongoing works, budgetary requirements and proposals awaiting approval. Representatives from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and Irrigation and Flood Control Department also attended the meeting.
The Board was informed that Rs 110.10 crore had been disbursed towards the first and second instalments of approved development works. Pending financial liabilities and the release of further instalments were also discussed.
"Our priority is to ensure the planned, balanced and sustained development of the Trans-Yamuna area. We have been holding discussions with individual MLAs to understand the specific requirements of their respective constituencies and review the proposals put forward by them. Our endeavour is to ensure that development works address the actual needs of people and are taken up in a systematic and time-bound manner," Lovely said.
To improve monitoring, the chairman announced that a departmental portal would maintain updated information on projects being executed across constituencies, enabling officials to track their progress.
He also directed departments to prepare a comprehensive list of infrastructure requirements, including roads, parks, public spaces and foot overbridges, and prioritise their development in phases.
The Board will now hold quarterly review meetings to assess project implementation and address bottlenecks. Proposals for the next financial year will also be examined by departments before being forwarded to the Finance Department for budgetary consideration.
