India, July 13 -- Two Delhi Traffic Police constables saved a 45-year-old government school teacher's life by rushing him to a hospital in an e-rickshaw instead of waiting for an ambulance after he allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from the Rani Jhansi Flyover here, officials said on Sunday. The incident took place on July 8 at around 4 pm when traffic police personnel deployed at Azad Market Chowk received information that a man was attempting to jump from the flyover. Constables Sahil and Amit rushed the injured man, later identified as government school teacher Anand Kumar Saroha (45), to Hindu Rao Hospital in a passing e-rickshaw before he was referred to St. Stephen's Hospital. Doctors said he is out of danger, with police crediting the constables' swift response for saving his life.
