Chennai, May 17 -- Tamil Nadu Assembly speaker J C D Prabhakar on Sunday said that Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is expediting all projects and closely monitoring every detail related to them.
"It is customary for legislators and ministers to conduct reviews whenever a new government is formed. Our CM is expediting all projects and keeps track of every detail at his fingertips-which constituency has which project, who is carrying out the work, and where it is being implemented," he told reporters while inspecting the Thousand Lights constituency in Chennai.
Claiming that the state government was functioning efficiently, the Speaker said the CM had been proactive in fulfilling the promises made by the government and that his performance had been excellent.
"The orders he (Vijay) issued on his first day in office, along with the subsequent directives, have earned the people's respect and approval," he said, adding that "he has emerged as a different kind of political leader."
Responding to a question on petitions submitted by two AIADMK factions-one led by party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami and another headed by S P Velumani-the Speaker said that, under legislative rules, petitions submitted for review are processed in accordance with due legal procedure.
