Kolkata, Sept. 15 -- TMC Kalighat faction leader Shobhandeb Chatterjee has moved the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the membership of 10 MLAs from the rebel Ritabrata camp on charges of floor-crossing. The MLAs named in the SLP are Arup Roy, Sandipan Saha, Shewli Saha, Firhad Hakim, Biplab Mitra, Sabina Yasmin, Javed Khan, Rathin Ghosh, Akroozaman and Ritabrata Banerjee.
The plea comes against the backdrop of similar disqualification proceedings against 20 MPs who switched to the NCPI.
West Bengal Assembly Speaker Rathindra Bose could not be contacted for his response as he is currently out of the country.
