New Delhi, July 31 -- Delhi Police has arrested three people, including a scrap dealer, for allegedly stealing a CCTV digital video recorder installed by the PWD in northeast Delhi's Seelampur, officials said on Friday.
The police have also recovered the hard disk and cash from the sale of the stolen property, they added.
The theft took place on July 27 at J-Block in Seelampur, following which an e-FIR was registered.
During the investigation, CCTV footage was examined and two men -- Danish Ansari (30) and Arif Khan (27), both residents of Khajuri Khas -- were arrested on Thursday, the police said.
The police also found that Arif had previously worked with the PWD installing CCTV cameras and was familiar with DVRs and hard disk removals, which allegedly enabled him to carry out the theft.
During the interrogation, the accused allegedly disclosed that they had sold the stolen DVR to a scrap dealer in Jahangirpuri.
Acting on the information, the police arrested Aasu (18), who allegedly purchased the stolen property, on the same day.
The stolen hard disk and Rs 48,000 in cash, suspected to be the proceeds from the sale of the DVR, were recovered from the accused, the police said.
