New Delhi, Sept. 17 -- A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped and stabbed to death before her body was dumped in an open field by four people, including three juveniles, police said on Thursday. The accused and the girl were known to each other.

The girl's decomposed body was found near Jaipal Rana's field on Kushak Road on September 13. Police said some parts had been eaten by stray dogs and one hand was found separated from the body. Its gender could not initially be ascertained.

Police said the girl had not been reported missing.

After registering a case under the BNS and POCSO Act, police analysed more than 50 CCTV cameras. Investigators tracked a tempo seen near the spot despite its registration number being unclear.

A night-long search led police to Khadda Colony, where the driver was traced. The driver was identified and questioned by police.

The four accused, including three juveniles aged 16 and 17, were apprehended. Two knives, clothes and the tempo were recovered. Further investigation is

underway.
