Kolkata, Aug. 30 -- The West Bengal School Education Department has directed all school teachers and staff to undergo sensitisation training through the PRASHAST 2.0 app to help identify students who may be facing difficulties in learning or may have disabilities.
The directive, issued by the Samagra Shiksha Mission, asks all general teachers to complete the prescribed sensitisation modules, while schools have been asked to conduct sensitisation training for non-teaching staff through the video-based training material available on the PRASHAST portal.
PRASHAST, or Pre-Assessment Holistic Screening Tool, is a Ministry of Education initiative for the preliminary identification of possible disabilities among school-going children.
The training was earlier primarily associated with special educators.
The department has now asked all teachers to undergo the sensitisation programme.
