Kolkata, May 11 -- Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Assam Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday. Besides Adhikari, many other Chief Ministers from the BJP-ruled states have also been invited to attend the programme.

The swearing-in ceremony at the Veterinary College Field in Khanapara is also expected to witness the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and many other Central ministers.

Sarma had also attended the swearing-in ceremony of Suvendu Adhikari at Brigade Parade Ground last Saturday. Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Sunday appointed BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma as the Chief Minister of Assam, paving the way for the NDA's third consecutive govt in the state.

After being unanimously elected leader of the BJP-led NDA's legislature party, Sarma, along with alliance leaders, met the Governor at Lok Bhavan and formally staked claim to form the government. Sarma on Sunday said that the state is likely to get around 18 to 19 ministers in the new BJP-led NDA government.

The BJP-led NDA government in Assam is set to take oath for a third consecutive term on May 12 in the presence of Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya.
