Kolkata, May 15 -- In a major development in the Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari's personal assistant Chandranath Rath murder case, the CBI has reportedly come to know that one of the arrested persons, Mayank Mishra, was given the responsibility to drive the Nissan Micra till Barasat.

During interrogation, Mishra reportedly told the CBI officials that the car's number plate was changed before they reached the Nivedita Setu toll plaza.

After driving the car to Barasat, he went to the airport area and had food. From there, he hired a cab and reached Howrah railway station. From Howrah, he boarded a train and returned to Buxar. On Thursday, CBI officers went to the Nivedita Setu toll plaza and conducted an inquiry.

Meanwhile, CBI has come to know that another accused, Raj Singh of Ballia in Uttar Pradesh, used to lead a luxurious life. Though his mother is reportedly an employee of India Post and runs the family based on her salary and Singh's late father's pension, the accused reportedly used to ride three luxurious vehicles with personal security. CBI officials are trying to find out where he used to get such a huge amount of money.
