
Kolkata, Sept. 29 -- The West Bengal government announced that the state administration will honour and award the district that performs best in implementing the Mukhya Mantri Swasthya Bima Yojana (MMSBY) by October 31.
District administrations have until October 31 to maximise performance, card activation, and implementation progress.
The district achieving the highest performance standards under the scheme will receive a personal commendation from the Chief Secretary. During a high-level administrative meeting with district magistrates and health officials on Monday, Chief Secretary Manoj Agarwal stressed accelerating Ayushman Bharat e-KYC completions and the districts were told they would be honoured for the best implementation of MMSBY.
According to sources, District Magistrates of various districts were asked to intensify local dengue control measures in remaining hotspot zones.
The Suvendu Adhikari government introduced the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana for all the families in the state who will not receive benefits from the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Now the state Chief Secretary has announced that special honours will be given for good work. The Chief Secretary also held a meeting with the District Magistrates regarding the health services and the dengue situation in the state. Senior officials from the health department were also present.
According to Nabanna sources, the Chief Secretary directed the administration to be proactive in further enhancing the progress of district-wise work under MMSBY, Ayushman Bharat and dengue control. Although the death rate due to dengue has decreased in the state, several areas remain hotspots. The Chief Secretary asked why there were dengue hotspots in Murshidabad and South 24-Parganas. Some blocks of South 24-Parganas and one or two blocks of Murshidabad are still identified as dengue hotspots.
