Kolkata, June 9 -- About a week after the recovery of soiled and damaged Indian currency worth a huge amount and a firearm from a closed room of Surendranath College in Muchipara area, several sharp weapons were found inside another room on Tuesday evening.

On June 2, around 4:30 pm, when the college authorities opened a room at ground floor by breaking the padlock for cleaning due to the ensuing rainy season, they found two suitcases loaded with soiled and damaged Indian currency notes.

During further search, around 7:45 pm, a single-shot country-made firearm was also found. In connection with the incident, the police had registered an FIR against two persons, including a local TMC leader and a vendor of the college. A few days after the incident, the police arrested the college vendor while the TMC leader is still absconding.
