India, July 27 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday inaugurated the 'Antyodaya Mela' under the Mukhya Mantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana in Ladwa. Speaking on the occasion, Saini said such events are being organised throughout the state and beneficiaries are being provided the benefits of 47 welfare schemes of 19 departments at a single platform. At Ladwa, he visited various departmental stalls set up to facilitate the delivery of government schemes and services. Saini said the 'Antyodaya Mela' is a living embodiment of the government's resolve that every scheme, every resource and every effort should benefit the last person standing in the queue.
He added that Antyodaya is not merely a government programme but a reflection of India's civilisational ethos, which envisions that everyone should be happy, healthy and free from suffering. "Our resolve is clear: no poor person will be left behind, no needy citizen will be deprived of opportunities, and no family will be prevented from progressing merely because it lacks resources," he said. Saini said that the objective of the Yojana is not merely to provide financial assistance but to connect every deserving family with sustainable livelihood opportunities. By bringing schemes related to self-employment, skill development, employment, financial inclusion and social welfare under one roof, eligible families are provided opportunities according to their needs and capabilities. Highlighting the progress achieved under the first phase of the Yojana, the chief minister said that 166 'Antyodaya Melas' have been organised across Haryana so far. He informed that 4,24,278 families were invited to these melas, of which 1,88,792 families attended. Out of these, 1,52,157 families were referred to the departments concerned for further assistance, while 55,422 eligible beneficiaries have already been provided livelihood-related benefits.
