Chandigarh, Sept. 29 -- The Haryana government has formulated the 'Haryana Network for Academic Vision, Applied Creativity and Holistic Administrative Research (Navachar) Yojana' to connect academic research and innovation with administrative requirements and real-world challenges.
The scheme received in-principle approval at the first General Body meeting of the Haryana State Innovation Society, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday.
Under the initiative, universities and higher educational institutions in Haryana will be encouraged to undertake research in priority areas including Viksit Haryana@2047, sustainable development, digital governance, high-tech manufacturing, sustainable agriculture, urban management and socio-economic inclusion.
Selected proposals may receive seed funding of up to Rs 1 lakh for preparing a Detailed Project Report. The DPR, prepared in coordination with the concerned department, will subsequently be submitted for final financial approval.
Saini said research should follow the principle of "Lab to Field and Field to Policy" and should lead to practical solutions for ground-level problems rather than remain confined to academic activities.
He directed officials to explore a pilot project in one district focusing on groundwater quality and technologies to make unusable or non-potable water suitable for use or drinking.
