Kolkata, Oct. 6 -- Red Road will be closed for vehicular traffic round-the-clock starting 10 pm on Tuesday till late Saturday night or till early morning on Sunday for a scheduled event related to Durga Puja.
According to a notification issued by the Kolkata Police, during the closure of the Red Road, vehicles will be diverted via several roads as and when considered necessary.
As per the notification, the North-bound vehicles coming along Kidderpore Road may be diverted via Dufferin Road and Outram Road.
South bound vehicles coming along RR Avenue and Government Place (East) may be diverted via Mayo Road and Dufferin Road.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday Commissioner of Police (CP), Kolkata, Ajay Nand visited a several prominent Puja pandals in the city, including Allen Park, Chetla Agrani, New Alipore, Suruchi Sangha, along with a few others to review the arrangements from the safety and security point of view.
During his visit, CP stressed on crowd management and emergency evacuation along with smooth traffic movement.
