Greater Noida, Oct. 1 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has granted a one-year extension to Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh, allowing him to continue as the chief executive of both YEIDA and Noida International Airport Ltd (NIAL) till September 30, 2027.

The Industrial Development Department issued the order late Wednesday, a day after Singh's existing one-year re-employment term ended on September 30. The latest order provides for his re-employment from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027 or until further orders.

This is the second consecutive extension granted to Singh after his superannuation. A 2009-batch IAS officer, he had retired from government service in September 2025 and was subsequently re-employed for a year as YEIDA and NIAL CEO. Singh's continuation comes at a crucial stage for the Yamuna region, with the Noida International Airport at Jewar moving towards commercial operations and YEIDA simultaneously pushing several large industrial, logistics and urban-development projects.

Singh took charge as CEO of YEIDA and NIAL in July 2025, replacing Arun Vir Singh. Before that, he had served as secretary to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and had earlier worked as additional CEO of YEIDA in 2015-16.

During his tenure, YEIDA has focused on bringing allotted industrial units into production, developing new industrial clusters and accelerating infrastructure around the airport. YEIDA is also pursuing logistics and urban projects, including a multimodal logistics park and new urban centres, as it accelerates development around the airport-led Yamuna City.
