New Delhi, Sept. 2 -- Rain swept several parts of Delhi on Wednesday, bringing down temperatures and providing relief from the humid weather, with more likely through the night.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'yellow' alert for Delhi, forecasting light to moderate rainfall and spells of moderate to heavy rain during the evening and night.
The Palam weather station recorded 3.1 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, Ayanagar 3.9 mm and Lodhi Road 0.8 mm.
Safdarjung, the capital's primary weather station, and the Ridge did not record any rainfall during this period.
Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 31.3 degrees Celsius -- 3.2 notches below normal.
Palam recorded a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, 4.8 notches below normal, and Lodhi Road recorded 31.2 degrees Celsius, 1.8 notches below normal.
The Ridge recorded the highest maximum temperature at 32.8 degrees Celsius, 1.6 notches below normal, while Ayanagar recorded 29.4 degrees Celsius, 5.5 notches below normal.
