New Delhi, Oct. 1 -- Connaught Place's Inner Circle will turn into a car-free public space on October 4, with cycling, fitness activities, music and street performances planned as part of Raahgiri Day.
The event, organised by the Raahgiri Foundation, Delhi Traffic Police and Fit India in association with the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), will see motorised vehicles make way for pedestrians and cyclists.
A key attraction of the programme will be a live performance by Indian rock band Euphoria at Central Park. The event will also feature performances by local artists and a range of activities aimed at encouraging community participation.
The programme is being held in partnership with Fit India's 'Sundays on Cycle' initiative, under which citizens will be encouraged to participate in community cycling drives and fitness activities. Demonstrations on walkability, cycling and non-motorised transport will also be organised along the Inner Circle.
The organisers have planned interactive workshops, sports and fitness activities, street art and other public engagements through the day. Activities focusing on youth participation, civic engagement and environmental stewardship will also form part of the programme.
The event will also serve as a curtain-raiser for Urban Adda '26, a three-day urban transformation conference scheduled to be held at the India Habitat Centre from October 5 to 7.
