Kolkata, Sept. 25 -- UNESCO, the West Bengal MSME Department and Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage facilitated the participation of Chhau artists from Purulia at the Jindo International Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference & Festival in South Korea. The three-day cultural exchange, held from September 18, featured artists from India, China, Mongolia, Indonesia and South Korea.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Jindo County and West Bengal to promote cultural collaboration and exchange. The Chhau artists performed twice during the festival, showcasing Purulia's traditional art. A spontaneous collaboration between Mongolian and Chhau artists highlighted cultural dialogue and mutual learning. The programme concluded with a gala dinner.
