Patiala, Sept. 30 -- Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has introduced a 45-day Voluntary Disclosure Scheme (VDS) for regularisation of unauthorised additional load of agricultural power tubewell consumers.

The scheme, issued under the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, will remain in force from October 1, 2026. It will apply to agricultural tubewell connections existing up to May 29, 2026.

Under Commercial Circular No. 37/2026, consumers can either remove the unauthorised additional load or regularise it by depositing the prescribed charges. The service connection charge for regularisation has been reduced to Rs 2,500 per horsepower from the normal Rs 6,572, while the security amount has been fixed at Rs 200 per horsepower against Rs 400 earlier.

Consumers opting for self-declaration will have to submit Form 1, while authorised representatives will have to furnish an undertaking in Form 2.

PSPCL field officers and enforcement teams will inspect connections to verify load and assist consumers. No penalty or load surcharge will be imposed on unauthorised load detected during inspections or voluntarily disclosed during the VDS period.
