India, July 2 -- Delhi Police has busted an alleged prostitution racket run under the guise of a spa in central Delhi's Paharganj area and arrested its owner-cum-manager following a decoy operation, an official said on Wednesday. Four women, aged between 26 and 40 years, were rescued during the raid conducted at a spa on Panchkuian Road and their statements are being recorded to ascertain whether more persons were involved in the racket, they said. The police received a tip-off on June 30 that human trafficking activities were being carried out at the SIN Spa, located on the second floor of a building on Panchkuian Road, where customers were allegedly being lured for prostitution activities. Also Read - Delhi court reserves verdict in wrestlers' sexual harassment case against Brij Bhushan Acting on the tip-off, a raiding team sent a decoy customer inside the spa with pre-recorded currency notes worth Rs 2,000 to verify the information. The police said the decoy customer was allegedly offered prostitution services by the spa operator, who accepted the advance payment and directed one of the women present at the premises to accompany him to a room. After receiving a pre-decided signal, the police team raided the premises and arrested the accused. During interrogation, Ajay Malhotra (39), a resident of Multani Dhanda in Nabi Karim, allegedly admitted to operating and managing the spa and facilitating prostitution under the cover of spa services, the police said. A case has been registered at the Paharganj police station under sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. During the raid, the police seized Rs 3,400 in cash, including the decoy money, a customer entry register, seven unused condoms and other material allegedly linked to the illegal activities.
