New Delhi, Sept. 24 -- The Delhi Police has arrested a 67-year-old property dealer for allegedly duping a retired Tihar Jail pharmacist of around Rs 1.75 crore using forged property documents and promising multiple land deals.
The accused, identified as Brahm Swaroop Bhardwaj, was arrested by the Dwarka district Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) from Sonipat, Haryana, on September 13. Police said he had been absconding for nearly a year and carried a reward of Rs 50,000.
According to police, Bhardwaj and his associates allegedly targeted the senior citizen and siphoned off his pension savings during 2024-25 through fraudulent property transactions.
A case was registered at Ranhola police station and further investigation is underway.
