India, Aug. 14 -- A 19-year-old woman from Assam, allegedly murdered inside a paying guest accommodation in Noida's Baraula village, suffered around 10 sharp-force injuries, according to her postmortem report. Police arrested the alleged killer, Raman Raj, from Katihar in Bihar on Thursday and are bringing him to Noida on transit remand. The victim, Mehak Ahmed, had arrived in Noida around three weeks ago without informing her parents and was working at a call centre. She lived with her friend Sanjana in a three-storey PG under Sector 49 police station. Raman, a BTech graduate and former IT employee, stayed on the same floor. Police said Mehak and Raman had an argument on August 8, when he was allegedly drinking outside his room. Sanjana returned on August 10 to find Mehak missing, while residents noticed a foul smell from Raman's locked room. Police found Mehak's blood-soaked body inside. Investigators traced Raman through mobile-location data.
