Kolkata, Oct. 7 -- Shakespeare Sarani Police on Wednesday visited Mamata Trinamool national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee's Kalighat Road residence to serve a notice in the Camac Street billboard removal case.

Accompanied by Kalighat Police personnel, the team stayed for 15-20 minutes. The notice asked Banerjee to appear at Shakespeare Sarani Police Station for questioning over one of three FIRs linked to the August 27 incident, when police and civic workers allegedly faced resistance while removing a billboard outside his Camac Street office.

Police said Banerjee was not at home and no office staff was available to receive the notice. The notice, therefore, could not be served. Police also visited former IPS officer Humayun Kabir's residence to serve a notice in the same case.
