New Delhi, Sept. 13 -- The Delhi Police took up 2,333 complaints and grievances during its weekly 'Thana Divas - Jansunwai' public hearing sessions held across police stations in all six ranges of the national capital.
The hearings were held on Saturday as part of an initiative aimed at strengthening police-public interaction and improving grievance redressal, officials said.
Senior officers, including Joint Commissioners of Police and Assistant Commissioners of Police, attended the hearings at various police stations and interacted directly with citizens, besides monitoring the grievance redressal process.
The 'Thana Divas-Jansunwai' programme was launched in June following directions from Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
The hearings were conducted amid heightened security arrangements in the national capital for the BRICS Summit.
