Srinagar, Oct. 21 -- Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived here on Wednesday, kickstarting his three-day visit during which he will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and seek to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

This is Tusk's second visit to India in his capacity as Poland's Prime Minister. The first was during his earlier tenure in 2010.

"A warm welcome to Prime Minister Donald Tusk of Poland on his arrival in New Delhi. He was received at the airport by (Minister of State Raj Bhushan Choudhary). The visit will provide fresh impetus to the India-Poland Strategic Partnership and further deepen our longstanding ties," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on X.

Tusk will meet Modi on October 22, when both leaders will review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, which was elevated to a Strategic Partnership during Modi's visit to Poland in August 2024, the MEA had said earlier.

According to an advisory shared by the MEA on Wednesday, the Polish Prime Minister is scheduled to meet External Affairs minister S Jaishankar on Thursday morning, following which he will visit Raighat and lay a wreath at Mahatma Gandhi's memorial.

Tusk will then proceed to Hyderabad House, where he will hold talks with Modi, and both leaders will issue press statements.
