New Delhi, Aug. 29 -- The Delhi government will inaugurate a series of completed projects in transport, roads, education, power, water and public utilities during a month-long campaign beginning September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Saturday. The campaign, described as 'Sewa Pakhwada', will focus on projects aimed at improving civic infrastructure and public services in the city.
Among the major projects is the Barapullah Phase-III, constructed at a cost of around Rs 1,635 crore. An underpass on the Outer Ring Road near Mukarba Chowk and an approach road connecting Badli Junction with Haiderpur Metro Station, built at Rs 54.10 crore, will also be inaugurated.
Water and sewerage projects worth Rs 863.38 crore are included in the programme. These include a 2-MGD recycling plant at Bawana, a 564-MLD wastewater treatment plant at Okhla, and sewerage infrastructure connecting Barapullah Drain to the Batla House Phase-II sewage pumping station. The government will also inaugurate upgraded wastewater treatment plants at Rithala and Kondli.
In education, a G+3 school building in Sector 16, Dwarka, will be opened, along with newly constructed SPS classrooms in East Vinod Nagar and Rohini's Sector 41. Several power substations, built at a combined cost of Rs 232.42 crore, will also become operational during the campaign.
