
New Delhi, July 5 -- Addressing a Sanskritik Sandhya organised in Rohini to commemorate twelve years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Sunday said the Prime Minister's tenure had redefined the scale and pace of India's development through decisive governance, infrastructure expansion, digital transformation and welfare-oriented policies, while placing public welfare at the centre of governance.
Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu and Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi were among those present at the programme, which was attended by public representatives, members of social organisations and residents from the Rohini Assembly constituency.
Addressing the gathering, the Speaker said, "Over the past twelve years, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership has redefined the scale and pace of India's development while placing public welfare at the centre of governance."
He said the period had witnessed major advancements in infrastructure, digital governance and welfare delivery. According to Gupta, the government's emphasis on transparency, efficient service delivery and citizen-centric policymaking had contributed to strengthening public confidence in governance.
Referring to the government's initiatives over the past decade, Gupta said, "The past twelve years have been marked by decisive governance, rapid infrastructure development, digital transformation, expanded social welfare initiatives and a renewed emphasis on inclusive growth." He added that these efforts had accelerated India's progress towards becoming a developed nation.
The Speaker also underscored the importance of public participation in democratic governance. "Public participation remains the foundation of democratic governance and nation-building," he said, expressing confidence that India would continue to advance towards the goal of Viksit Bharat under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, guided by the principles of Vishwas, Vikas and Jan Kalyan.
The cultural programme featured devotional bhajans celebrating India's civilisational heritage and artistic traditions.
