Kolkata, Nov. 4 -- Bengal is likely to witness dry and pleasant weather during Kali Puja and Diwali, with the weather office forecasting a gradual dip in night temperatures over the weekend. The city is expected to experience cooler nights, with the minimum temperature likely to touch around 22 degree Celsius.

Kolkata and adjoining districts received light rain on Wednesday morning under the influence of the remnant depression of severe cyclonic storm Murasu, which made landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast. However, the weather system has weakened considerably and is likely to further lose intensity, with the Met office ruling out any significant impact on Bengal.

According to the weather office, South Bengal is expected to remain mostly dry through the weekend, including Kali Puja and Diwali. Night temperatures may fall by around 2-4 degrees Celsius, bringing a perceptible change in weather conditions. North Bengal is also likely to witness dry weather, with temperatures expected to decline by 3-4 degree Celsius.
