Kolkata, July 6 -- Schools that have not cleared dues related to the 2026 Post Publication Review (PPR) and Post Publication Scrutiny (PPS) process will not be allowed to complete Class IX registration, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has said.
In a recent notification, the board said institutions with outstanding PPR and PPS dues would be denied access to the online registration portal until the payments are cleared.
Online registration of Class IX students of the 2026 academic session will be conducted from July 13 to August 25. The students are scheduled to appear for the Madhyamik examination in 2028.
The directive comes weeks after the board withheld revised Madhyamik 2026 PPR and PPS results of candidates from 82 schools after verification showed that the corresponding fees had not been reflected in its records despite applications being submitted through the online system.
The board had subsequently published a list of the schools and the amounts pending against them and asked the institutions to complete payment verification. While several schools have since cleared their dues, some are yet to do so, prompting the board to make settlement of outstanding payments a condition for completing the registration process.
The registration will be conducted through the board's online portal. Both online and offline payment modes will be available, though QR code-based payments will not be accepted.
