Bengaluru, Sept. 25 -- More than 41.63 lakh notices have been delivered so far to electors as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, while 2.18 lakh notices are yet to be delivered, the CEO's office said on Friday.
The state has 4,48,44,080 electors on the electoral roll as of September 25, comprising 2.22 crore male, 2.25 crore female and 2,873 transgender electors, it said. The notices have been issued to electors whose names fall under the 'No Mapping' and 'Anomalies' categories as part of the electoral roll revision exercise, officials said. According to a statement issued by the chief electoral officer's office, a total of 43,82,296 notices have been generated across the state. "Out of the notices generated, 41,63,368 notices have been delivered, while 2,18,928 notices are yet to be delivered, resulting in an overall delivery percentage of 95 per cent," it said.
With regard to hearings, 28,80,882 (69.20 per cent) have been completed out of the delivered notices, while 12,82,486 hearings are pending, the CEO's office said. The CEO's office said it had received 7,70,988 Form 6 applications, 4,551 Form 6A applications, 61,130 Form 7 applications and 11,11,495 Form 8 applications, taking the total number of forms received to 19,48,164. The last hearing will be conducted on October 12, while October 22 is the last date for disposal of claims and objections and completion of the notice phase.
As requested by registered and recognised political parties, the lists of persons to whom notices have been issued under the 'No Mapping' and 'Anomalies' categories have been published on the CEO's website. According to officials, Form 6 can be used to apply for inclusion of a name in the electoral roll. First-time voters, as well as electors who were marked as shifted or absent because they were not present at their address during the enumeration phase, can file Form 6 along with a declaration. The form can be used to enrol a person's name at the present address, provided the name is not enrolled elsewhere in India.
