Siliguri, Aug. 30 -- Intense competition, challenging questions and rapid-fire answers kept the audience on the edge of their seats as the grand finale of Knowledge Knockout Season 3 - Mega Inter-School Quiz Competition held at Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) on Saturday.
The competition, organised by SIT, saw Debaditya Sarkar of Vivekananda Vidyapith, Cooch Behar, emerge as the champion. Harshit Roy of Sonarpur B.K. High School finished as the first runner-up, while Rudra Bhowal of Jarmels Academy, Jalpaiguri, secured the second runner-up position.
The winners received trophies and certificates, along with cash prizes of Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively.
Dr Shubhashis Dutta, Controller of Examinations at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), Bhaskar Roy, Senior Vice-President of Techno India Group, SIT Vice-Principal Dr Arundhati Chakraborty and other dignitaries were present at the grand finale.
"This competition helps students to build their general knowledge, curiosity, logical reasoning and quick decision-making skills among students," said Bhaskar Roy, the Vice President of Techno India Group. Mukherjee Hospital, Siliguri and Indian Bank, Siliguri branch, were the powered-by partners of the event. Himalayan Nursing College and School, Siliguri, was the healthcare partner, while MTRT Group, Dalkhola, was the technical partner.
Joint conveners Parmita Chowdhury and Ratnankur Majumdar informed that the competition brought together students from North Bengal, Kishanganj and adjoining areas. More than 4,000 students from over 60 schools across more than 25 cities participated in different stages of the competition.
