
New Delhi, Oct. 7 -- ore than 35 lakh women commuters travelled on DTC buses between October 1 and 6, amid the rollout of the Delhi government's Pink Saheli Smart Card for free bus travel.
Over 25 lakh women have travelled since October 3, when the smart card-based facility was notified. Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said eligible women need not panic as card-making will continue until all beneficiaries
are covered.
"There is no need for any woman to panic or worry about the Pink Saheli Smart Card,"
Singh said.
The government has set up 38 centres and special camps to issue NCMC-enabled cards, offering free travel on DTC and Cluster buses to
eligible women and transgender persons. mpost
