India, July 15 -- Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has achieved another significant milestone in its journey towards modernisation as three stations under its jurisdiction i.e. Majbat in Rangiya Division, Jalpaiguri Road in Alipurduar Division and Haldibari in Katihar Division have been redeveloped under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This marks a major step towards transforming railway stations into modern, accessible and passenger-friendly transport hubs while preserving the local heritage and cultural identity of each region. These three stations, located across Assam & West Bengal, have been comprehensively upgraded to provide enhanced passenger amenities and improved travel experience, in line with the Government of India's vision of developing world-class railway infrastructure across the railways. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Majbat railway station in Assam has been redeveloped at a cost of Rs 10.19 crore, Jalpaiguri Road railway station at Rs 34.80 crore and Haldibari railway station at approximately Rs 26 crore.
