India, July 13 -- The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Sunday organised the 32nd consecutive weekly plantation drive under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign at the Central Government Employees Residents' Welfare Association (RWA), Kali Bari Marg, Gole Market, with Vice-Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal leading the initiative. The programme, held as part of the #EkPedMaaKeNaam_OnSunday campaign, also included a Jan Sunwai under the Good Governance at Your Doorstep initiative, where residents raised civic issues relating to local infrastructure and public amenities. Addressing the gathering, Chahal said the campaign had evolved into a public movement with growing citizen participation. He noted that, besides the weekly drives, NDMC has been conducting large-scale plantation programmes in collaboration with universities, embassies and other institutions to strengthen urban green cover. Chahal urged citizens to ensure the regular care and protection of the saplings to help them grow into healthy trees. During the interaction, residents sought a new badminton court, an open gym, reconstruction of a porta cabin and solutions to sewer-related issues. Chahal reviewed the requests with officials from the Health, Civil Engineering, Roads, Water Supply, Drainage and Electricity Departments and directed them to ensure time-bound action
