New Delhi, Sept. 10 -- With the BRICS Summit approaching, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has stepped up its preparations to give the capital's central areas a uniform and illuminated appearance for visiting delegates and international guests.
As part of the preparations, decorative lighting has been installed at 17 major roundabouts, 11 hotel premises and 10 prominent NDMC buildings across the civic body's jurisdiction. Trees, shrubs and landscaped areas at key roundabouts have been
fitted with uplighters, LED strings and other decorative lighting arrangements.
The illuminated roundabouts include Patel Chowk, Windsor Place, Mandi House, Shantipath-Kautilya, Shantipath-Panchsheel, Shantipath-Satya Marg, RML, Teen Murti, Q-Point, Claridges Hotel, Samrat Hotel, Ashoka Hotel, Methi, Lok Kalyan Metro Station, Man Singh, York Place and PM Roundabout. The civic body has also taken up illumination around hotels located along routes associated with the summit. These include Taj Palace, ITC Maurya, Ashoka Hotel, Samrat Hotel, The Leela, Taj Mansingh, Claridges, Shangri-La, Le Meridien and The Imperial, among others.
