Kolkata, Sept. 30 -- The home voting facility was made available to elderly voters in the Nandigram Assembly constituency of Purba Medinipur district in West Bengal, bringing the electoral process to the voter's doorstep. Nandigram Assembly Constituency will go for bypolls on October 6, while the counting will take place on October 9.
The facility is aimed at enabling eligible voters who may face difficulties in reaching polling stations to exercise their franchise from home. Election officials facilitated the voting process at the voters' residence while adhering to the prescribed procedures.
