Kolkata, Sept. 7 -- The Election Commission has announced October 6 as the date for bypolls to the Nandigram and Rejinagar Assembly seats, with counting and results scheduled for October 9.
The two seats fell vacant after Suvendu Adhikari and Humayun Kabir resigned from their respective constituencies.
The EC notification will be issued on September 9. The last date for filing nominations is September 16, followed by scrutiny on September 17 and withdrawal of candidature till September 19.
Officials of the CEO's office held a review meeting on Monday to assess poll preparations in the two constituencies.
