Nabin: West Bengal has moved from 'atmosphere of fear to trust'

Kolkata, Sept. 28 -- BJP national president Nitin Nabin, addressing the 'Yuva Sambad Sammelan' in Kolkata on Monday, said Bengal had moved from an atmosphere of fear to one of trust.

Praising Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, Nabin said the BJP government had quickly translated manifesto promises into reality under PM Modi's guidance, adding that Adhikari had "worked admirably to fulfil Modi's Guarantee".

Nabin expressed confidence that Bengal would reclaim its sporting legacy, calling for greater focus on youth policy and sports while drawing on the state's rich heritage and culture to inspire the younger generation.

"I am fully confident that the state will once again live up to its rich sporting legacy. West Bengal is now out of an environment of fear," Nabin said at the 'Yuva Sambad Sammelan'.

Several sports personalities who have excelled nationally were felicitated in his presence, along with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya. Nabin also urged the Chief Minister to focus on the state's youth policy alongside the sports sector, saying: "I would urge the Chief Minister to focus on the state's youth policy alongside its sports sector. We, and no one else, are the ones who can dispel the negativity being spread through social media. Today's youth simply need a platform."

He also called for youths to be recognised as job creators rather than job seekers, citing PM Modi's push for the startup ecosystem.

"Consider how PM Modi introduced the startup ecosystem to the country. Today, based on that initiative, over 250,000 startups and more than 125 unicorns are operating across the nation," Nabin added. "I sensed a renewed hope among the youth here. West Bengal is renowned for its culture, art, literature and sports, and our government is striving to restore its past glory.

With young people engaging in sports and cultural activities, West Bengal will once again advance while honouring its illustrious history," he said.
