
Mumbai, Sept. 17 -- The National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) hosted the Infrastructure Conclave 2026 in Mumbai, bringing together stakeholders to discuss strengthening infrastructure financing & mobilising domestic and global long-term capital.
SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey and Laya Madduri, IAS, Joint Secretary, Infrastructure Finance Secretariat, Department of Economic Affairs, delivered keynote addresses.
The conclave also saw the launch of two research reports - "Channelizing Domestic and Global Capital for Infrastructure Financing" and "Catalysing India's Economic Ambitions through Bond Market Development."
Panel discussions covered bridging the infrastructure financing gap, mobilising insurance capital, structured finance solutions, asset monetisation by states and emerging sources of infrastructure capital. Discussions also examined securitisation, Credit Default Swaps, Total Return Swaps, InvITs and REITs, along with private credit, infrastructure funds, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and insurance capital.
Rajkiran Rai G., Managing Director, NaBFID, said, "India's infrastructure ambitions require a strong and diversified financing ecosystem that can effectively channel long-term domestic and global capital." The conclave aimed to foster collaboration and identify avenues to deepen capital markets and strengthen India's infrastructure financing architecture.
